Matej Kacaljak obtained his Law Master’s (JUDr.) and Ph.D. degrees from Faculty of Law of Comenius University in Bratislava and Economics Master’s degree (Ing.) from the Faculty of National Economy of University of Economics in Bratislava. Upon successful habilitation in 2018 he obtained an academic title of associate professor of commercial and financial law.

Matej joined PRK Partners in 2011. Before joining PRK Partners he worked at Deloitte on chosen projects related to legal issues. At PRK he has assisted with several major projects involving advice related to tax law, corporate law, banking and finance and litigation.

In addition to working at PRK Partners Matej holds the position of Head of Department of Financial Law at the Faculty of Law of Comenius University in Bratislava. He regularly holds lectures, publishes articles in local and international legal and academic journals and has participated in several grant projects.

In 2018 Matej was admitted as an attorney at law to the Slovak Bar Association. He is fluent in Slovak, Czech and English.
