Jan Kohout


Jan Kohout is an attorney at law and a Partner at PRK Partners. He is also Head of the firm’s Russian Desk.

Jan has a wide range of experience with project financing and restructuring projects, and his clients include a number of large banks operating on the Czech market. He also regularly advises Czech and international clients on mergers and acquisitions, real estate law and infrastructure projects, including cases involving litigation and arbitration in those areas, especially those with Russian language aspects. In line with current trends and client needs Jan’s experience also includes various areas of ICT and TMT law.

Having been raised in a bilingual environment Jan speaks Czech and Russian natively. He is also fluent in English. He is a member of the Czech Bar Association, and in recent years has been a member of its Supervisory Council. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Trade and Industry for CIS Countries. Jan was also an external specialist of the Czech Confederation of Industry for the EU/Russian Federation Relationship Committee in BUSINESSEUROPE (an organisation based in Brussels).

Coming from an artistic and musical background Jan’s non-legal activities include serving on the Board of the Czech Chamber Music Society associated with the Czech Philharmonic.
