Jana Otcenaskova is an attorney at law at PRK Partners with a focus on data law and privacy law, telecommunication law, IT law, intellectual property law, commercial contract law and related dispute resolution, corporate law.
Jana received her Master’s degree (Mgr.) from the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague. She studied German law under the Erasmus programme at the University of Passau, where she later also earned her LL.M. degree.
In 2019 Jana was admitted as an attorney at law to the Czech Bar Association. In 2020 Jana took part in a training program organized by German institutions and comprising of lectures on German business law and a three-weeks practice of visiting attorney in a Frankfurt’s branch of an international law firm, focusing on merges and acquisitions.
After her graduation from the Charles University, Jana worked at the Czech Ministry of Finance, where she specialized in corporate law, state-owned enterprise law and contractual relations between the Czech Republic and private entities. Before being admitted as an attorney at law, she worked with a law firm specializing mostly in providing commercial law advice to German-speaking clients. She also played a key role with the implementation of GDPR into the processes of the client base. Jana joined PRK Partners in 2019.
Jana has knowledge and experience in various business-related legal areas, but her main focus became privacy law and data law, information and communication technology law and trade and commerce. She advises global and multinational clients as well as local Czech clients in data privacy matters, electronic communications matters, commercial matters (with prevalence of e-commerce), including corporate law, insolvency law and merges & acquisitions.
Jana has very good orientation in sectors of online media, video streaming, e-commerce, marketing and automotive. She is an active member of Czech Association for Personal Data Protection and Lex’s Mundi’s Data Protection Practice Group.
In addition to her native Czech, Jana provides legal services in English and German and enjoys learning additional languages in her free time.
