Subsidies for intellectual property protection for startups and other SMEs

The SME Fund offers financial support to small- and medium-sized enterprises established in the European Union to cover the costs of protecting their intellectual property, including trademarks, industrial designs, patents and new plant varieties.
By completing an application, you can receive a voucher to cover the costs of:
- IP scan worth up to EUR 1,350; or
- trade mark and design registration fees in the amount of EUR 1,000.
To apply for funding, a SME must set up an account on the SME Fund website and fill in an application form for the relevant type of voucher. Once the application is approved, the SME can carry out the requested IP protection activities, which will then be reimbursed by activating the voucher received with notification of application approval. Vouchers are valid for 2 months from the date of issue.
The reimbursement program will run until 8 December 2023, but due to limited funds, applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis.
