Covid-19 Pandemic – Rent subsidy
On 23 June 2020 the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic (the "Ministry") announced a call for applications for provision of a rent subsidy from the budget department of the Ministry, as amended on 24 August 2020 (the "Call"), in accordance with Section 13c of Act No. 71/2013 Coll., on provision of subsidies under the authority of the Ministry, as amended (the "Act"), and the approved Scheme of state aid for support of the economy in connection with the outbreak of Covid-19 – rent subsidy. Under this Call, the maximum amount of rent support is EUR 800,000 for an undertaking and the total budget for the scheme is EUR 200,000,000.
Subsequently, on 24 August 2020 the Ministry announced further call for applications for provision of a rent subsidy – De minimis aid, from the budget department of the Ministry (the "Call – de minimis"), in accordance with Section 13c of the Act, and the approved Scheme of aid de minimis for support of the economy in connection with the outbreak of Covid-19 – rent subsidy (DM – 10/2020). This Call – de minimis is applicable in case of applicants (tenants) - medium-sized enterprises or large enterprises which were considered "an undertaking in difficulties" as of 31 December 2019. Under this Call – de minimis, the maximum amount of rent support is EUR 200,000 for an undertaking and the total budget for the scheme is EUR 50,000,000.
Applicants have until 30 November 2020 to submit their applications for the rent subsidy.
